Intro to Tricking

Workshop - Phill Gibbs

New to tricking? This workshop is the perfect starting point. Phill Gibbs will guide you through the fundamentals, helping you understand the direction of movement, kicking lines and how acrobatic/kicks/flips are used in tricking.

No prior experience is needed – whether you have a background in a related sport or are completely new to tricking, you’ll learn the basics in a safe, structured way. Build confidence, master foundational movements and start your tricking journey.

How to to Refine Your Coin Drops

Workshop - Aaron Van Eijck

Coin drops are a common movement used in break dancing, but has become more frequent in tricking in recent years. It is a classic “ground” move, that requires controlled dropping to the athlete’s upper back while rotating in a circular motion, then, using that momentum to twist to the other side, and push up to their feet. Learning coin drops adds a unique break dancing flair to all tricker’s skillsets.

Develop Your Punching Skills

Workshop - Byron Delamont

Punching skills are used frequently in gymnastics and tumbling, as well as power tricking. These techniques require athletes to build momentum that leads them to taking off both feet aggressively from the ground (which is called a “punch jump”). Understanding how to incorporate “punching” not only helps trickers with power twisting and flips, but helps achieving even high-level kicks requiring more height.

Shuriken-Cutter a.k.a The Dragon Kick

Workshop - Damon Exarhos

Shuriken-Cutter has become extremely popular this year, due to the new Karate Kid film, where it has been renamed “The Dragon Kick”. While it is a high-level skill that incorporates the three main aspects of tricking (kicks, flips, twists), there are many ways to navigate learning this incredible power skill. As one of the most popular tricking skills, it can help you deliver a great finisher to every combo.
